We’ve recently attended a webinar hosted by the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS) with Dr. Eugene Seah. The short summary of the webinar is that AI will form part of the future for quantity surveyors and we should use it to our advantage.
Quantity Surveyors should start integrating software programmes using multi-dimensional drawings and visual programming that assembles drawings graphically by exploring multi design options and analysing algorithms, and steer away from 2 dimensional drawings for take offs.
This will enhance quantity surveyors’ ability in South Africa, particularly Pretoria, to automate repetitive tasks as well as increase productivity and efficiency.
There are multiple quantity surveying companies in Pretoria East that will benefit and stand out based on the industries or trades they specialize in, as well as their adaption to the future tools and enhancements from AI.
